Sludge waste treated by simple external consignment, landfill, incineration, or composting is a resource recycling process with new construction methods to enhance environmental performance and maximize ESG management efficiency in line with environmental policies.

Diminished and harmless

Sewage and wastewater sludge is generated from all businesses that operate sewage treatment plants. It is not economical because it spends 120,000 won to 240,000 won per ton for consignment treatment, and additional added values such as waste emission reduction, carbon fixation, and resource circulation are not expected. In comparison, Smart ERRM uses a low-temperature pyrolysis system in the sludge discharge stage to achieve approximately 80% waste reduction. The other 20% of the final product is produced as biochar or renewable fuel coal, which can increase the value of resource circulation and at the same time increase the economic feasibility.

Up-Cycling and ESG management

Simple recycling, such as drying and composting, has no effect other than recycling, and the market is saturated. However, bio cars produced through Smart ERMM fix about 65-89% of organic carbon with carbon-utilized storage (CCUS) technology, reducing 1.95-2.85 tons of CO₂eq (carbon dioxide conversion) based on 1 ton of bio cars for livestock. This has the effect of planting about 232 trees based on 12.3 kg of CO₂ absorption per day for 30-year-old pine trees.
